School-Based Mentoring

Imagine taking a break out of your day to return to your childhood by eating a school lunch, playing basketball at recess or reading a book with a child. Imagine being the highlight of a child’s week at school. Imagine that making a positive impact on a child’s life is possible during one hour a week! Big Brothers Big Sister’s School-Based Mentoring program is a way that adults and high school students can volunteer and make an impact in the life of a child.
Corporate Mentoring
Adults who participate in the School-Based Mentoring program are called Corporate Mentors. Corporate Mentors volunteer to spend one hour a week, usually their lunch hour, with a Little at his/her elementary school. All activities take place at the school, either inside or outside. Matches can eat lunch together, play games, do schoolwork or simply hang out and talk.
Companies or businesses that have four or more employees who volunteer as Corporate Mentors are considered Corporate Partners. Thanks to the following companies for being Corporate Partners!

Students attend one scheduled mentoring session, usually after school, each week with their Little at his/her elementary school. High School Bigs experience the joy and life changing power of service, build college resumes, and may receive school credits. All activities take place at the school, either inside or outside. Matches can play games, do schoolwork or simply hang out and talk.
