More Volunteer Opportunities

Are you looking for a volunteer opportunity within our agency, but don’t feel you have the time to be a Big Brother or Big Sister? We need volunteers in other capacities as well from office work to helping with special events. Below are a few volunteer options available within the Big Brothers Big Sisters agency.

Event Volunteer

Big Brothers Big Sisters hosts special events such as Bowl For Kids’ Sake and the BBBS/Applebee's Golf Outing in which we need additional volunteers. Volunteers can assist with registration, lane monitoring and supervising the hospitality suite for BFKS and registration and tee monitor for the golf outing.

Ambassadors’ Council

Assist the Big Brothers Big Sisters’ agency with special events and recruitment.  Ambassadors are leaders of the community who share the core values of Big Brothers Big Sisters of the Illinois Capital Region and believe in the mission and vision of the agency. 

Responsibilities:

• Assist with Bingo on ten scheduled nights a year
• Recruit teams for the Bowl for Kids’ Sake event each year
• Assist with at least two nights of Bowl for Kids’ Sake each year
• Recruit a minimum of one team for the local golf outing each year or help work the event
• Serve as an “ambassador” for the agency throughout the community

Office Volunteer

Assist staff with various office duties, such as assembling board games, cutting and gluing paper for arts and crafts projects, or anything as needed. Most tasks can be done at home and brought back to the BBBS office when completed. Please contact Carissa at (217) 753-1216 if interested in volunteering for office projects.
